The South Bay Cities Council of Governments (SBCCOG) celebrates the 20th anniversary of its South Bay Environmental Services Center (SBESC), a program that works lockstep with 16 South Bay cities and their utilities to provide resources about energy efficiency, water conservation, transportation options (carpool and vanpool), waste reduction and recycling to South Bay cities, school districts, residents and businesses.  

The South Bay Cities Council of Governments (SBCCOG) is proud to announce that it has been selected as a finalist in the Print Publication category for PR Daily's Nonprofit Communications Awards program. This esteemed program honors organizations that have demonstrated excellence in nonprofit communications and highlights their impactful efforts in the industry. 

The South Bay Cities Council of Governments (SBCCOG), a government organization dedicated to improving the quality of life and productivity in the South Bay subregion of Los Angeles County, has elected city of Carson Council Member Cedric Hicks to lead its board as 2023/24 chair.

To help the South Bay meet its housing targets in a largely “built-out” subregion, the South Bay Cities Council of Governments (SBCCOG) is leading a project to identify and reimagine underutilized commercial properties that are strong candidates for new housing to increase housing supply.

The General Assembly is an opportunity for thought leaders to gather, share ideas and discuss important issues that impact the South Bay subregion of Los Angeles County. The theme for this year’s event is “The South Bay: Leading the Way in Resilience and Adaptability.”

A rolling turtle will be featured on road signage for the new South Bay Local Travel Network. Designated safe routes will support the growing use of personal micromobility.

The South Bay Cities Council of Governments (SBCCOG) is searching for the community’s best photographs of South Bay landmarks for its second annual “Why I Love the South Bay” photo contest.
