Solar Installation and Contractors
Finding and selected qualified solar contractors is a critical step when consumers are ready to move forward with their solar installation project. Getting multiple bids from vetted lists of installers is recommended in order to compare prices, customer service, and equipment.
Consumers are always encouraged to solicit multiple bids for solar installation projects and, importantly, always check licenses and references before entering into any contract.
While the South Bay Cities Council of Government does not yet have an on-going vetted list of contractors it does regard the nearby City of Santa Monica’s list as a model and resource for South Bay residents to begin the process of finding and soliciting bids for solar installation. A link to the list of “Qualified Solar Installers” can be found here.
Low Income and Disadvantaged Communities
Solar installation is also available for those that live or own property in disadvantaged communities or those who qualify through income level. A recognized non-profit that promotes and installs solar systems to this community is Grid-Alternatives. To learn more about their “Get Solar” program visit this link.
