RIBBON-CUTTING CEREMONY  FOR THE MEASURE R MOBILITY IMPROVEMENT PROJECT ON HAWTHORNE BLVD. (MR312.44)
THURSDAY, APRIL 9, 2015 AT 11:30 AM

The Ceremony is to take place in the median island on Hawthorne Blvd., south of El Segundo Blvd.

This project was initiated in 2013. It was one of the projects selected for “First Five Years” funding in the South Bay’s Measure R Highway Program because it could be designed and constructed relatively quickly.

The $12.5 million budget makes this project one of the most ambitious of the South Bay early action projects. And with the $7.5 million match of Measure R South Bay Highway Program funds, the city has a balanced funding plan that leverages a wide range of hard-to-find transportation funding sources.

The project broke ground on April 30, 2014, and will serve Measure R goals by helping relieve congestion and increasing safety of vehicles, pedestrians and bicyclists as they use, cross or park on the revitalized boulevard.

The event flyer can be found below. All are invited to attend.
