D. 1 Dues Payment Outstanding as of October 4 (Hawthorne)

  • City notified that per JPA agreement, if payment not received by October 6, city is  suspended from membership.  
  • JPA agreement states:  “Non-Payment of Dues.  If a Member fails to pay dues within three months of the annual dues assessment as required under Section 23 of this Fourth Amended and Restated Agreement and the Bylaws, and after a 30-day written notice is provided to that Member, the Member shall be deemed to be suspended from this Fourth Amended and Restated Agreement and the Council.  When a Member is suspended, no representative of that Member shall participate or vote on the Governing Board.  Such a Member shall be readmitted only upon the payment of all dues then owed by the Member, including dues incurred prior to the suspension and during the suspension.”

  • Meeting with Terranea.  There may be an opportunity to use Travel Pal as the platform to organize Terranea employees into an EV vanpool. (Green Commuter Teslas)  The timing for this wouldn’t begin until early December and would “kick-off” as part of the Resort’s Associate Day Retreat.  Metro Vanpool program also involved.
  • Working on meetings with LA Airforce Base and other Aerospace firms – for Vanpools too.

O. Sustainability Initiatives 1:00 pm

  • Anaerobic Digestors to Electricity – We applied to the CEC for Phase 1. Successful Phase 1 applicants will be asked to submit full scopes of work and budgets by December 21st, 2016.  We expect to hear something soon re: Phase 1.
  • South Bay Net, a sub-regional broadband initiative
