Measure R Oversight Committee May 7

The SBCCOG Measure R Oversight Committee is scheduled to meet Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at 3:00 pm at the SBCCOG/SBESC offices in the City of Torrance located at 20285 S. Western Ave., Suite 100, Torrance, CA 90501.

The SBCCOG will be explaining the Caltrans Active Transportation Program Grant application process at the end of the meeting, and ALL CITIES are welcome to attend! Don’t worry if you’re not a Measure R city! We’d love to help you prepare for these grant applications, which are due MAY 21! Caltrans has $360 million dollars to allocate for this program, which cities (with bicycle/pedestrian projects) are required to apply to, in lieu of Metro’s 2015 Call for Projects. Metro anticipates a significant shortfall in CFP funds this year.
The SBCCOG encourages the participation of ELECTED OFFICIALS at these meetings, which require a total of FOUR elected officials for a quorum. Most of the SBCCOG’s member cities have multiple Measure R projects underway, and we would love to see more elected officials become familiar with the South Bay Highway/Measure R Program to support their Public Works Departments’ efforts.
