The South Bay Cities Council of Governments (SBCCOG) needs volunteers to help with its research programs and community outreach events, primarily for the South Bay Environmental Services Center, a program of the SBCCOG. Our team is highly motivated and works in the areas of transportation, environment, seniors, homeless, and land use. We are looking for individuals to support our team. Our volunteers work on data gathering, ArcGIS, community outreach, graphic design, social media, and general Microsoft Office systems, depending on their skills and their interests. We invite individuals to apply that want to make a difference in their community.

Volunteer Opportunities Include:

  • Research & Analysis: Dive deep into data relating to agencies, sustainability and more!
  • Creative Services: Use your graphic design or digital media skills to share important messages.
  • Community Events: Help organize and engage at community fairs, eco-friendly workshops, and special environmental programs.
  • Office Support: Assist our staff with various administrative tasks.
  • Specialized Projects: Have a project you want to work on? Don’t be afraid to reach out, we would love to work with you!

Why Volunteer with Us?

By joining our volunteer team, you’re not just giving your time, but you’re also helping shape the future of our community. The SBESC focuses on sustainable practices that save water, energy and money. We need enthusiastic individuals like you to spread the word. Plus, you’ll gain valuable experience in the environmental and local government sectors, working alongside like-minded people who are dedicated to creating positive change.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Enthusiastic & Friendly Volunteers: If you enjoy connecting with people, sharing knowledge, and making a difference, this is the perfect opportunity for you.
  • Flexible Hours: Whether you’re available just a few hours a week or more, we have a spot for you.
  • No Experience Needed: Passion and a willingness to learn are all you need. We’ll provide the training.

The South Bay Environmental Services Center provides informational outreach on environmental and sustainability programs, helping residents to implement sustainability practices and projects that save water, save energy, and save money.
