Green Business Assist Program / California Green Business Network
Business Sustainability Programs in the South Bay
The South Bay Cities Council of Governments (SBCCOG) drives sustainable business practices and strengthens the workforce in the South Bay through the Green Business Assist Program, California Green Business Network Certification, and our work with the South Bay Workforce Investment Board. By leveraging resources from our partners – West Basin, LA County Sanitation Districts, SoCalREN, SoCalGas, LA Metro, and the Water Replenishment District, the SBCCOG connects businesses to tools, rebates, and programs that support long-term sustainability and savings.
Learn about these programs and their offerings below.

CAGBN
The California Green Business Network (CAGBN) is a statewide program that helps local businesses operate more sustainably and profitably. This certification recognizes environmental leadership and connects businesses to a statewide network of more than 4,000 California businesses making meaningful change. With hands-on support from the SBCCOG staff, South Bay businesses are guided through a streamlined certification process.
Our staff:
- Meets with you to communicate certification criteria and map out a clear path to certification
- Conducts a site visit to assess current practices and connect your business with tailored recommendations and resources to help you achieve certification.
- Completes a follow-up visit to confirm your business has met all certification requirements.
Once certified, your business receives official recognition with a window decal and inclusion on the CAGBN website directory, along with promotional opportunities that highlight your sustainability achievements.
