 Letters to the Governor needed – as of 9/6/22, Carson, Hermosa Beach & Inglewood received
 Assuming the Governor signs the legislation, staff will report back in October with next steps

L. South Bay Fiber Network – 1:05 PM
 LATA Grant – application was for $498,949
 Scope to include Market/Needs Assessment in SB DAC/Equity challenged communities with technical overlays to propose last-mile connections that would tie back into the SBFN’s middle-mile network
 Partner cities include: Carson, Gardena, Hawthorne, Inglewood, Lawndale
 14 Letters of Partnership/Support were received by the SBCCOG in support of the application
 Proposal officially received by the CPUC review team on 8/23.
 Work Order #5:
 Lateral connection to Torrance Transit Center on pace for service delivery in December
 Programing for Work Order #6:
 Review and assessment of proposed/desired lateral site connections or network improvements for a final Work Order that would program the balance of the original Metro Funding Agreement for the SBFN continues. Site possibilities include:
 1 LA County IEN transport circuit from Alhambra to Hawthorne location
 4 City of Hawthorne locations
 2 City of Manhattan Beach locations (including a new fire station)
 1 Park Location in RPV
 Network Improvements to provide 24/7 access at “regen” locations:
 Carson
 Gardena
 Wireless Pilot Project
 SBCCOG continues its work to facilitate the implementation of Tekwerk’s 2 site locations (Carson and Torrance Airport) for service to underserved businesses
 Anticipated equipment installation and formal marketing is behind schedule
 Both cities continue to be excited and engaged to get the pilot project up and running. That said, both cities, along with Tekwerks and ADF, are working through issues so that the project will have “every opportunity for success”.
 Application Developments
 SBCCOG continues to meet one on one with SB cities to assess IT developments and applications that might (or are) a result of SBFN subscription. These include:
 Off-site back-up (at Equinix or Evoque) for off-site data storage
 New circuits for intra-city IT resiliency
 Continued support for remote work
 Continued support for hybrid public meetings
 Consideration of how to support traffic sync projects/upgrades
