Gensai GEO SEARCH is Japan’s (and the world’s) leader in harnessing the power of ground penetrating radar (GPR) to help public works agencies resolve unseen hazards below roads and highways. Since 1989, Gensai GEO SEARCH has detected over 180,000 verified cavities under roadways. After establishing operations in Torrance in 2022, hundreds of under-pavement anomalies have been found for U.S. cities and agencies, allowing repairs before roads are compromised.

1) Scanning for cavities prior to road repaving ensures a sound roadbed below the new layer of pavement. This is the least expensive but potentially most important part of any road project.

2) Aging water pipes and recent California rains have created dramatic sinkholes, but dangerous voids can remain unseen below a cap of pavement. Our proprietary equipment and software, built upon a dozen patents, can solve the puzzle of the underground by accurately scanning to 6 feet depth, at traffic speeds up to 60 mph.

No traffic control required for most activities.

With 37 years of success and experience in detecting sinkholes and large potholes before they collapse, and precisely mapping unknown underground utilities before excavation, our core company mission “To Protect Lives and Livelihoods” is now guiding our work in California and other global markets.

The Retired Public Employees’ Association of California (RPEA), originally known as Retired State Government Employees’ Association (RSGEA), was formed on September 15, 1958. Its prime objective was to form an organization to secure improvements in retirement allowances from the State Employees’ Retirement System (SERS).

In 1960 the State Employees’ Retirement System expanded its field of membership to include public agency and school district employees and retirees and therefore changed its name to Public Employees’ Retirement System (PERS), and thus became the only such association to represent all CalPERS retirees.

The Retired State Government Employees Association also changed its name to Retired Public Employees Association of California (RPEA) and expanded its field of membership in accordance with the PERS action.

The first Chapters were 001 Norwalk, 002 San Francisco, 003 Stockton and 004 Sacramento. The Association’s first aim was to increase membership to influence the legislature in California.
