 The July 30 meeting of the South Bay Cities Green Task Force was held in Gardena at their new Transit Facility. The state-of-the-art, $50-million, LEED Certified building is located on South Western Avenue. The facility includes a 10,000 SF Photovoltaic Panel Covered Bus Shade Structure which generates about 190,000 kWh of electricity per year, resulting in savings of over $25,000 in energy costs annually. In addition to this outstanding venue, we had an interesting and informative agenda which covered Metro’s Vanpool Subsidy Program and the Local Use Vehicle (LUV) project.  Please see the speakers power point presentations below.
